However, for vacuum applications, direct draw or differential-pressure assisted (pilot operated) solenoid valves can be used. Typically, a pilot operated solenoid valve needs a positive inlet pressure to operate. In some cases, a servo or pilot operated solenoid valve may not be used, even if there is a pressure differential due to the vacuum in the outlet port. Incorrect selection for vacuum applications results in valve inoperative problem. The ESV-300 series has two ports and two positions (open and closed) and only N.K. It is a solenoid valve (Normally Closed, opened when energized) and designed with 4mm orifice as standard. ESV-300 solenoid valves for vacuum applications are generally made of the same material as general purpose solenoid valves, such as a brass body, stainless steel internals, and NBR seals. The only factors will be the environment, application temperatures and application requirements. For example, a stainless steel body should be preferred for vacuum applications in the food industry and PTFE or FKM gaskets should be used for high temperature applications.
