Food fats are molecules that make up our skin, hair, and other cells of our body. They are responsible for most of our calories and contribute to our weight and health. The three main types of food oils are omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood, poultry, nuts and seeds; omega-6 fatty acids from animal products such as meat or eggs; and waxes and oils, a type of oil used mainly in cosmetics and hair care products.
