MicroPLC Compact, fast small control system Designed as a standalone PLC, the MICRO CPU stands out due to its modern design, compact size, high performance and high channel density. A new display and operating concept allows the user to see the basic control information of the system at a glance. The result is an up-to-date and functional design that is unique in the automation world. With a width of less than 72 millimeters, the VIPA MICRO PLC is up to 50% smaller than typical MICRO controllers and offers new solutions and possibilities in terms of performance and space requirements. Fast, faster, MICRO Based on SPEED7 technology for highest clock speeds and fast program processing, enabling fast processing, e.g. for precise positioning and various control tasks. Additional speed benefits allow fast backplane bus transmission of 48 Mbit/s. With the CPU performance of a large CPU, MICRO PLC is the fastest MICRO controller on the market. High Channel Density An additional plus factor is MICRO's high channel density. With 30 integrated digital and analog I/O channels onboard, it also offers versatile usage options as a standalone CPU and can be expanded up to eight modules. Existing digital modules will be continuously expanded with all built-in module types. With this, the user has up to 158 I/O channels for automation tasks. Tight Hold with Spring Terminal Technology The connecting plugs of the MICRO are individually detachable and therefore suitable for pre-wiring. With the handy push-in technology, they can be installed and replaced quickly and easily and without tools. With this, you can reduce downtime and speed up maintenance. In addition, the spark plugs have spring terminals that not only allow for easy wiring, but also withstand vibration and make it unnecessary to re-tighten the screw connections. The simple assignment of diagnostic I/O display LEDs directly to the appropriate plug connection allows the user to easily and clearly assign the channel status even at such a high channel density. In addition, MICRO has freely definable imaging projects with an integrated web server that allows random access to data, diagnostics and status interfaces via smart device, PC or laptop. Interfaces, Communication and Memory With the active 2-port switch for online access, programming and communication, the range of functions can be easily expanded with more planned features via firmware update. MICRO supports PROFINET in addition to standard Ethernet protocols such as Modbus TCP or S7 communication. Up to eight PROFINET devices can be easily connected and the MICRO can be integrated into PROFINET topologies as an I Device. The user can also use the PROFIBUS slave function, PtP and MPI with an expansion module. Other functions of the SLIO system, such as larger memory or fieldbus connections, can be enabled using the award-winning multiple VIPA Set Card (VSC). The basic version of MICRO has 64 kBytes of working memory, which is max. 128 kBytes via VSC. The biggest advantage of all current VIPA CPUs is fully non-volatile memory, so data and status are saved in case of power failure. This simplifies program configuration and is a great advantage for manufacturers and operators. Target application The MICRO PLC can be used as a high-performance, small or microcontroller in both serial and custom machine building, and as central or decentralized control in plant construction.
